Midlothian SNP's candidate for Ward 1 Penicuik. Margaret Wison has been married to her husband Jim for 37yrs. and has two daughters She comes originaly from Bonnyrigg but moved to Penicuik in 1970. Margaret and Jim ran a successful electrical business called MAGLIN DOMESTICS for 20yrs in Penicuik . they recently sold it on to a local lad and it is still thriving. Margaret now has time to stand as a local council candidate and is looking forward to the challenge. She has always had an interest in the local community and served on the local community council for 8yrs. In her time on the council she was the convener for civic affairs and enjoyed interacting with groups and societies within Penicuik. Having ran her own business for so long she knows what the pressures are on small businesses struggling to survive in an "out of town " shopping culture which now threatens all town centres. With both common sense and business sense she looks forward to working with local businesses to improving shopping choices within Penicuik. Her interests are studying HISTORY and has recently been awarded a certificate in Historical Studies from the Office of Life Long Learning at Edinbugh University.
